I really wanted to capture the contrast between delicate and strong in this painting. The background is reminescent of my childhood when my mum (notice the English spelling!) who would collect armfuls of these Money Plants or Lunaria and have them dotted around the house in big beautiful old enamel jugs. I was always facinted with how translucent and delicate they were. As a background I think they look stunning against the strong tiger and woman who I imagine has gone through much in her life with strength and courage.
