Stunning original acrylic painting on 18x24x1.5" wrapped canvas ready to hang with a wire on the back.
Hoopoe Birds are distinctive and beautiful birds found in Europe, Asia and Africa. They love to forage on bare or lightly vegetated ground, devouring grasshoppers and similar insects. They also enjoy seeds and berries and even the occasional small frog! They nest in trees, cliffs and even walls.
The modification of natural habitats has led to the hoopoe becoming more popular in olive groves, orchards and vineyards.
Their pastimes include sunbathing, with wings stretched out and taking sand and dust baths.
Hoopoes have featured throughout history with reputations that vary from good to bad. I personally think these are stunning birds and should be known and enjoyed for their beautiful crown of feathers.
I thoroughly enjoyed painting Aida surrounded by an olive grove and lucky enough to have a hoopoe perch on her shoulder for a while.
Created using professional, heavy body acrylic paint and sealed with a high quality professional varnish. This painting is 18x24x1.5" wrapped canvas with a wire on the back for hanging.
